It's hitting its stride in this epoch of maturity – toasty notes, dried fruits, woody spices, caramel licks amongst dark cherry, cola and cranberry fruit characters. There's a softness here but no avoiding the regional garrigue and ferrous savouriness that lends complexity and character, too. Powdery, earthy tannins come through nicely. A perky, crisp finish works well alongside. Charming, ageing red, is the message.
